Now is an exciting time for all of us who have been working hard on planning for the IPMB Congress this October. We are just months away from the 9th International Plant Molecular Biology (IPMB) Congress and things are shaping up for what will certainly be a great experience for all of those who will be attending!

The Congress takes place in the fun, exciting and family-friendly city of St. Louis, Missouri. St. Louis offers so many things to see and do while you attend the Congress that you’ll probably run out of time before you run out of options. Unique attractions, historic sites, charming neighborhoods and exciting entertainment options fill the streets of St. Louis.

Some things you should be aware of:

  • There are a number of deadlines that are fast approaching so we urge you to check out the KEY DATES.

  • For many students, we are now able to offer some registration assistance through some grant funding that we hope will make their trip to the Congress more affordable. Check out the REGISTRATION page and scroll to the bottom of the page for more information. There are some restrictions and a form that must be returned to be eligible.

  • Symposia speakers have been selected but you may still present a poster at the Congress. Please submit your abstract online by clicking on the ABSTRACT SUBMISSION tab to the left. The submission deadline has been extended to August 1.

  • Be sure to book your hotel accommodations online as well. Click on ACCOMMODATIONS to reserve your room for the Congress.

We encourage you to come back to this website often as all important updates and changes can be found here.

So, why should you come to the 9th IPMB Congress? Because as we all know, the most important challenges facing humanity are to improve world agriculture and education, and to improve human health. These challenges are critical for feeding a world population estimated to be approximately 9 billion people by 2040. In order to increase and maintain world food production, for improved diet and human health, plant scientists need to understand the mechanisms that control plant growth, how to manipulate these mechanisms for plant improvement, and to teach the world about these mechanisms. The 9th International Plant Molecular Biology (IPMB) Congress is a venue composed of Plenary Lectures and 54 symposia that will allow scientists worldwide to come to St. Louis and share their love for biology, knowledge and research results. Plan to Attend.
